Ben Kilburn

MA (Cantab) Dip Arch RIBA

Ben Kilburn studied at Cambridge University 1984 -1990 since when he has worked in New York and London on a wide range of projects. He joined the practice in 1989.

Ben is currently Project Director for the New Library project at Emmanuel College, Cambridge. He has also worked as Project Architect on a variety of other projects, including:

• British High Commission, Kampala, Uganda
  (masterplan, offices, visa section, meeting rooms, library, clubhouse)
• Central School of Speech and Drama, London
  (refurbishment of the large Victorian theatre)
• Corpus Christi College, Cambridge
  (refurbishment of the Parker Library)
• The conversion and extension of several listed buildings.

With Richard Nightingale, Ben Kilburn has led a design course in sustainability for postgraduate architecture students at the University of Bath. He has also been visiting tutor and critic at Cambridge University and the Welsh School of Architecture. Between 1996 and 2000, he was studio tutor at Cambridge University leading an array of large scale and challenging programmes based in London, the Czech Republic and New York.
