Cullum and Nightingale have a growing reputation for arts related buildings. These have included new and refurbished theatres as well as exhibition spaces, studios and conference facilities and have given us valuable expertise in ancillary issues such as public licensing, servicing, lighting, catering facilities etc.

Actors' Centre, Covent Garden, London
Cullum and Nightingale have remodelled a 1980s building in Covent Garden
to create the Actor's Centre. |
Library Design Consultants, the BBC, London
Richard Nightingale acted as library consultant for the BBC on the design of a reference and news archives library in Broadcasting House. |
Empire Theatre, Consett
As the result of an RIBA sponsored limited competition, Cullum and Nightingale have been appointed as architects for the refurbishment of the Empire Theatre, Consett, Co. Durham. |

The new studio is the first phase of a larger composition on an awkward
triangular site. It is, foremost, a simple well-lit space in which
to paint.
The new main theatre for the School was completed
in 2002.
This major extension includes a commercial-scale theatre workshop, two studio theatres, dressing rooms, design studios, offices and teaching spaces.
A low budget clubhouse and grandstand built of local gum-poles with a corrugated iron roof.
