Combe House Hotel, Devon

The project comprises the masterplanning and detailed design of additional facilities for this prestigious grade I listed country house hotel.

The work includes analysis and interpretation of the existing historic buildings and landscape. The more detailed proposals include sensitive integration of new guest suites within the grounds, a new staff wing, the restoration of the Orangery and the conversion of the stables to guest accommodation.

"We were shown into a new suite the owners have just converted from the old laundry. The result was impressive. There was nothing old or knackered here. A commodious sitting room was followed by a great bedroom and, adjoining it, a bathroom whose main feature was an enormous copper bath big enough for a threesome if you were so inclined."
