Ward House, Lake Naivasha, Kenya
One of a number of large houses we have built abroad for private clients. The Ward House makes the most of its wonderful view over the Rift Valley lake wih a high deck jutting out from the house amongst the surrounding acacias.
Wherever possible, the building takes advantage of local materials and local skills and craftsmanship. For example, the main structural material is stone quarried from the farm and hand chiselled on site.

"Known in Britain for their attention to detail and the
ability to make the most of every inch of space ... in Kenya their instinct
was entirely the correct one: to build out of the landscape."
'Something new out of Africa', The Sunday Times, 17.7.94 (Hugh Pearman)
